About Diwan-I-Khas

Diwan-I-Khas, also known as the hall of private Audience is located at the northern end of Pachisi courtyard. This served as the royal chamber of Emperor Akbar. The hall is designed according to the Persian style of architecture and the interiors are dominated by a carved stone central column, These pillars flare up at the top to create a flat topped plinth linked to the four corners of the room by narrow stone and are decorated with fine sculpture and precious stones. It is said that Akbar used to debate with scholars who used to stand at the ends of the four bridges There are 4 kiosks, which are located in the middle of the court.
